Guys need help

Recently my best friend set me up with a guy she knew. I was excited because he was cute & I thought he was nice. Anyways he shows up to my door in an old grungy t-shirt, stained pants & shoes that used to be white. I know looks don't matter but come on! At least try will ya? Us girls will put hours into deciding what we are going to wear, what we are going to accesorize with & how we are going to do our hair and some guys don't even give a darn what they look like. There were 4 couples on this date (thank goodness) we all played games, ate dinner then went to get ice cream. It was fun up until he started talking about how excited he was for his next date with this really pretty girl from his history class. I just wanted to go home right then & there but I didn't (mainly because he was my ride home) the dance was lame, luckily my friends date suggested we go back home & watch a movie at my house. So we get to my house & 1 couple left for home, another girl left & then my date left which left my best friend, her date, another guy & I to watch movies. It just bugs me that my date just left. The point to this story is- Guys, you need to at least try to pretend you aren't being forced to be there. And DO NOT go on & on about how excited you are for your next date with a pretty girl, that will eventually get you a slap in the face.

My Unofficial Job

For as long as I can remember uncle Boise had us sitting under a little stand or at a table selling corn he grew in our fields. I made my first dollar there, it was always so much fun. In May of 2007 Uncle Boise passed away but we've kept his corn "business" going strong. Uncle Boise's oldest son, Dave is my moms business partner. His younger brother, Kim grows all the corn & pumpkins. My little brother & I do the activities & the cash register. And my brother in-law Shawn is the pony guy & creativity behind the activities.  In 2009 we got somewhat serious about selling corn, produce & pumpkins. Mike would sit on his donkey on the side of the road with a sign or do an occasional dance which kind of attracted people. In 2010 we grew our own pumpkins but only 25% came up due to bad seeds so we brought some in. We had the TLC show "Sister Wives" film at Evans Family Farm which was a cool experience. We put the ponies to good use & made so many little kids happy. This last fall we had 1000's of pumpkins! We were always busy, which made it so much more enjoyable. I enjoyed helping kids guess the weight of their pumpkins, giving pony rides & giving hay rides. It is a really fun job & it has forced us to work together. The Daily Herald even did an article on us! Right now we are selling Christmas Trees in 20 degree weather but we've had our laughs & I wouldn't change anything about it. Spring 2012 we plan to get our greenhouse started back up which I'm really looking forward to! Stay tuned.

Growing up on a farm has its advantages
 Ann, our Belgium mule
Bobaloui, our donkey
My german shepherd, Cash & our boykin spaniel, Souix
Cash is named after Johnny Cash. Listening to Johnny Cash was the only thing that put him to sleep at night. Souix is named after Johnny Cash's song, "A Boy Named Souix"
My horse ABCDE. I was playing on ksl one day last spring & I saw the ad title "Mare. Free to good home" I hurried & called the number on the ad & we went to loook at her. 2 weeks later we brought her home. She is the most incredible horse I could ask for.

We bred Cash in February of 2011 & I got the pick of the litter. Being the amazing sister I am I gave him to June & Bret.

A New Year

January 8, 2011 June & Bret were married in Saratoga Springs. Talk about a beautiful wedding, minus the fact there were only 5 of us cleaning up until 1 am in a blizzard! At the wedding my sister Jordan (she is between June & I) started having contractions! She & her husband, Travis left for the hospital but the doctor sent her home. At 7 am the following morning my phone rang then moms phone rang, I ignored both phones thinking it was June but I knew Bret was with her & if anything was wrong Bret could help her. 2 minutes later dads phone started ringing but I let him answer it, 10 minutes later mom came to my room asking if I wanted to go to the hospital with them. Dad, mom & I got our coats on & headed out the door. Less then a 1/2 hour later sweet little Grayson was born. Dad & I sat in the hall betting how much he would weigh, the loser had to buy the winner breakfast. Needless to say dad had to buy me breakfast.
